A weekend packed with highlights marked the launch of Rotorua’s new Energy Events Centre.

Positive feedback has poured in after Friday’s opening ceremony, Saturday’s public concert, and Sunday’s open day and venue tours.
An opening ceremony and dinner attended by Prime Minister Helen Clark launched the weekend’s events. Attendees were welcomed into the Energy Events Centre with a powhiri and a rousing performance from the Te Arawa kapa haka group. The Prime Minister was then invited to unveil a plaque and perform the ribbon cutting to declare the centre officially open.
A second plaque was also unveiled by 100 year old Witarina Harris, to commemorate the gifting of the land the Energy Events Centre is built on, by the Ngati Whakaue tribe..... To read the latest Energy Events Centre update in full, click here.
