With the earlier underground work frustrations now well behind us, the Energy Events Centre structure is quickly taking shape above ground revealing the true size of this exciting new community facility. With the holiday period at an end, principal contractors Mainzeal and the various sub-contractors are back on deck with a full complement of nearly 40 staff on site.
Just prior to Christmas the first two bays of structural steel were erected for the Bay of Plenty Community Trust Forum area - the outstanding conference, trade show and banquet space that sits between the existing Southern Trust Sportsdrome and the Unison Arena, which is the largest space in the new Energy Events Centre complex. A further bay for the Forum has been completed since Christmas and the remaining two bays will be in place by the end of the month.
