The Waikato and Hawkes Bay boys were given byes in the opening round of the National Basketball League beginning in two weeks time.

However a pre-season friendly at Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre between the two teams on Saturday 1 March at 7.30pm will ensure that supporters still get to see their stars in action.

Event Venues operations manager, Crispian Stewart, says it is very exciting to have two teams who made the Top 4 of the NBL final last year.

“We’re keen to create a lot of interest for potential games in the future. A good crowd will go a long way in showing the Pistons the support they have in Rotorua.” 

Pero Cameron and Benny Hill will be in the Pistons line up, while Paora Winitana, Everard Bartlett, Paul Henare and Dylan Perfect-Tait will jam it for the Hawks.

Cost is $8 Adult and $5 Child.
